Big Rock

Flowers are spreading across the Bay Area Ridge Trail I sat on top of the ridge and did a watercolor of a rock outcropping and with poppy spreading out around it.

Red’s Outlook

Every morning a Red Shoulder hawk would perch on these coastal oaks checking out its territory. I was fortunate to actually line up the tree trunks in my painting with the view when I stood back to take the photo.

Snow

It was 39% out so I chose a small panel to paint a quick view of aspen and snow before the afternoon sun melted it away.

Low Tide

Exploring the coast and tidepools near Fort Bragg California with a 1.7 minus tide. For the first time I saw many large abalone and lots of large sea stars. Seals with newborns and no people.

Sonoma oak

This time of year the bay area oaks are waking up to spring. Some of the deciduous oaks have catkins dangling from the branches. This oak early in the morning glowed with catkins and lace lichen. Perazzo Cows

Most of California forests are closed do to fire danger. Parked above Perazzo Meadows I sat and sketched the view. Then a line of cows crossed through the grasses.
