A Roosevelt Elk settling down. He scooped out the sand to make a bed out at Gold Bluffs beach. This is located in The Redwood National Park, Prairie Creek State Park. Smart enough to make it behind the stay away from elk park sign.
This was his small herd he was keeping his eye on. This bull is one of 6 that were rejected out of the herd as it gets closer to mating season. They hang out near Prairie Creek not far from the campground.
