This painting of Squaw Valley is 48x36in. Here is the back story on how it evolved from a small painting from years ago, into a commission last year. I am thrilled it is now in a home in Colorado.
Waiting for its new home!
It started on Summer Solstice in 2017. I stood in Squaw Valley along the bike path and painted a view looking up the valley to celebrate the day. This painting sold soon afterwards in HCH. Fast forward to 2020 and a couple came to HCH and expressed they would like a larger version of this painting for their home.
Here was the start of 48×36 in canvas in my studio. I was going to be painting a valley of the beginning of a summer.
I decided that I wanted to got back out to the site where I painted from. This would help me with the composition even though it was now shades of autumn with no snow. It was wonderful to return to this special view and remember what inspired me to begin with.
In conclusion this is a beautiful spot to paint any season of the year.
