This pileated woodpecker show up at the birdbath this week. With all the smoke and fires on the West coast it looked as frazzled as I felt.
I painted this on a wooden 10×10 inch panel. The arrow points to Truckee where this Woody was sighted.
In the photo below there is a white headed woodpecker to compare the size of the two.
