Nicole’s Oak

This beautiful oak is in Lucas Valley, California. I knew when I saw it that I wanted to paint it. It is now in a home nearby with someone who admires it as much as I do.

I sketched it on location in pencil, then ink with watercolor. From that I started a 40×40 in. canvas painting. One of the sketches is in the tree above
