After a wet winter, Kingsnakes started appearing at the Las Gallinas Wildlife ponds. I saw two snakes in the same locations. It was still wet and cold and they weren’t moving much. I was able to sketch one without it moving.
There are many hawks and herons in the area and I was surprised the snakes were out there exposed.
