A short stay in Yosemite Valley with my easel. When you look at Yosemite Valley and the falls it can be intimidating. How do you reduce that size of a landscape into a 8x10inch or smaller canvas. I decided to push myself and take advantage that the Merced River was quiet without many visitors and I had a big tree with shade to paint under.
The view in the middle of the bridge was the best, but the side view with bridge in in foreground turned into a good painting.
I had the beach to myself then this wonderful family moved into the foreground. It was nice to hear children playing in the Merced River.
