This painting started from a smaller version painted of these horses over a year ago. It was exciting when it sold. I was very lucky to view them in person, as they moved across a high valley in Northern California. I wanted to paint this version larger so went with a 24x48in canvas. I always begin my paintings with a toned canvas.
