Speedboat Beach is in Kings Beach area of Tahoe. The parking is nearly non existent, with a small cove and private homes. I wanted to start the summer dipping into the lake with a small study. I can get my easel down to the shore without much trouble.
While doing this quick view of rocks a ranger came up began questioning owners with dogs romping around. It is a no dog beach, complicated by private homes and what part of the beach is state park and what is private. He repeatedly complained to anyone asking him questions how he had to deal with all the politics of beach control.. with “Welcome to my world!” In the time I painted these rocks he said it over four times. He sure viewed his job with a pessimistic attitude. All the while I kept thinking how lucky he was standing there on the shores of Lake Tahoe with that view.
