Crystal Harling

This is is a popular  hike up from Donner Summit towards Squaw Valley and above Sugar Bowl ski area. It follows some of the Pacific Crest Trail. Large snow patches were still present in August but passable. The flowers were prolific and colorful. Lots of Juniper trees to study. This is one of my favorite trees in the Sierra. I have sketched and painted many gnarled ones up on the summit.
